Contact Elected Officials

You can make a huge difference by simply writing your elected officials about your ideas for changing the health care system. Learn how to do it here.

Writing your elected officials is still a tried and true way of letting your representatives know your opinions.

Most officials have online forms for you to use to send an electronic message.  Due to tight security regulations, this truly is the quickist and most effective way to contact them rather than sending a letter which can take months to reach them.

Here's some ideas of what you can say:

  • Copy and paste the contents of the Declaration into the body of your email:  The Declaration for the Health of America.
  • Write your own message, including why health care reform matters to you and what you want to see changed.  Keep it brief and be specific.
  • Don't be afraid to challenge current barriers you have encountered in the current system.
  • Be sure to contact your Federal AND State elected.  There are concrete reform efforts that need to occur at every level of government.
